Salford pupils treated to new pond area thanks to Simple Life donation

River View Primary School in Broughton, Salford, is benefitting from another donation from Simple Life which has meant the school’s pond area has been renovated and the pupils will receive nature lessons.

The further £5,000 comes following Simple Life’s £8,000 donation in 2018, which funded an outdoor reading greenhouse and new books.

Simple Life is currently building 298 new apartments in the area on a new site, Empyrean. Having been involved in the regeneration of the Broughton area over recent years, as part of our Corporate Responsibility Policy (CSR) we have donated the money as a way of helping the local community to flourish.

Daniel Gauld, Head Teacher at River View Primary School said: “We’re really grateful for the second donation from Simple Life. Nature and being outdoors is brilliant for the children’s mental health and wellbeing and the new pond area is brilliant.

“The outdoor greenhouse built from the first donation allows us to associate reading time within playtime and has made a huge difference to the school.”

This is another example of Simple Life working with schools that are close to their own developments. There are 298 new one, two and three bed apartments, set across six floors being built on Clarence Street, which is located just behind the school. The apartments were released to the market this month with first residents expected to move in later October/early November 2020.
