Thrills, Laughter and Community – A Simple Life Day Out!

We were delighted to treat 100 Simple Life residents to an unforgettable day out at a top UK theme park, Alton Towers one recent Sunday in May!

We’re committed to continuing off-site events for our communities and are always looking for an opportunity to bring our residents together for a good time! This Spring we decided to give a theme park a try as we invited all our residents from West Midlands neighbourhoods to a great day out on us!

To make things as easy and enjoyable as possible, we arranged coach travel for attendees, giving neighbours a chance to get to know one another and enjoy the lively atmosphere right from the start. It truly was a Sunday Fun Day from the moment the wheels started turning. Of course, we know everyone has different preferences, while many joined us on the coach, some residents chose to drive themselves. To be as inclusive as possible, we distributed tickets in advance to those arranging their own transport and encouraged them to meet us at lunchtime for a picnic.

Despite a bit of classic British weather, spirits stayed high! Our planned outdoor picnic had to be moved indoors, but the Towers Suite provided the perfect alternative. It became a welcoming hub where residents could relax, enjoy lunch, and chat with others from different neighbourhoods. Some residents who were exploring the park even dropped by to say hello and take a break before heading back to the rides.

From adrenaline-pumping rollercoasters to gentle family attractions, there was something for everyone. Our event organisers had some brilliant feedback from residents as they get back on the bus to take them home – “We had such a great day, thank you so much’.

Everyone agreed — it was a fantastic day out, and we can’t wait to plan the next one!
