Hey Simple Life & welcome to my crib!
This time, we packed up and headed down South to the charming town of Bridgwater, where we had the pleasure of visiting Simple Life residents Amy, Gary, and their four-legged sidekick, Barney – a very adorable (and supposedly fierce) guard dog.
power Welcome to Amy & Gary’s Crib in Bridgwater – A Simple Life Home Tour
Both Amy and Gary are police officers, balancing busy shifts with the peace and comfort of their beautiful home. And let us tell you – the moment we stepped through the door, we were blown away. Their home is a design lover’s dream, with perfectly coordinated décor, splashes of colour, and yes – plenty of neon signage. It turns out Amy is not only the heart of the home but also its creative mind, curating each space with an eye for detail and a passion for playful touches.
“Our friend… got us on to the Simple Life site here and recommended it to us because of how good it is for being dog friendly and sort of renter focused.”
Let’s start in the kitchen.
The couple’s favourite room is the airy open-plan kitchen and dining area. Amy and Gary have brought the room to life with bright pops of colour, sausage dog-themed photo frames (because why not?), and of course, another signature neon sign. Thanks to the blank canvas provided by Simple Life, they’ve truly made the space their own. We love an incorporated Love Island theme too!
Next stop: the bedroom.
Upstairs, the bedroom carries on the stylish theme. Amy has cleverly used renter-friendly wall panels to bring in even more colour, achieving that luxurious hotel feel without making any permanent changes. It’s proof that rental living doesn’t mean compromising on personality or comfort.
“Everything’s renter friendly as well, so we’ve got the peel and stick wallpaper… Our DIY photo frames… We love neon signs in this house… Gary upholstered our chairs as well… We’ve recently planted some new flowers in the hanging baskets … I bought these panelling boards from Wickes that just nail into the wall”
And then… the man cave.
Every home needs a space to unwind, and Gary’s got his covered. Complete with a computer setup, baseball cap display, and a legendary festival hat (that matches Barney’s), it’s the perfect chill zone.
Out to the garden!
We opened the patio doors to Amy & Gary’s beautiful garden! They really have made it their own by extending their patio and installing a garden shed, all approved by Simple Life.
Beyond the front door.
After our home tour, we took a walk around the development with the couple, who shared their favourite local walking spots – including picturesque canal paths and, of course, the local pub. It’s clear they’ve found not just a home, but a lifestyle they love.
Before we left, they shared one final thought that really summed it all up:
“My favourite thing about it is… when we moved into it, no one else has ever lived in it. I think that we got all the joy of moving into a new house without the stress of buying a house.”
