Watching a Club Grow: Our Partnership with Runcorn Ladies CC

This summer has been a good one for cricket lovers across the country. It’s been kinder to players, though, than to the grounds staff tending wickets and outfields! Even so, a sunny day on the pitch, or watching from the boundary, is a reminder of something bigger: how much of a difference the right support can make to a club, and to the people in it. Runcorn Ladies Cricket Club is a brilliant example of exactly that.

Three Years of Progress with Runcorn Ladies Cricket Club

We’ve partnered with Runcorn Ladies CC since June 2023, back when they first began building the club’s women’s squads. Since then, we’ve watched their progress with real pride. Numbers are up. Skills are improving. And, most importantly, everyone is enjoying the game more with every season that passes.

That support has taken a few different forms over the years. It started with ECB official equipment, designed to build confidence and skills from the ground up. From there came a set of trendy pink stumps and smart team kit. Then, new for 2026, a bowling machine arrived to take training and skills development even further.

From Softball to Hardball

The club’s journey has been brilliant to follow. Runcorn Ladies CC started out in 2023 dipping their toes into softball cricket. Since then, they’ve progressed onto the full hardball game.

Throughout it all, they’ve shown real determination to build a club where everyone is welcome, friendships are formed, and skills are developed together.

As a group, they’re genuinely inspiring. They support and encourage one another, building each other up as part of a team.

Why We Support Runcorn Ladies Cricket Club

Supporting the club was an easy decision. Accessibility, inclusion and participation sit at the heart of our social impact and sustainability objectives. I’ve been lucky enough to be welcomed on visits to the club along the way, and I’m looking forward to joining them for their end-of-season awards in September. I want to thank them, too, for helping spread the word about why it matters to support local people and communities. After all, they understand best what’s really needed to make a positive difference where they live.

The feedback from club members says it all. For me, it captures the true meaning of social impact: doing something for others that makes a genuine difference to their day-to-day lives. Simple.
