Galton Valley Primary School was able to maintain their school pantomime trip tradition thanks to donations from Simple Life... Oh yes they did!
Almost 400 pupils from Galton Valley Primary School in Smethwick attended a Peter Pan pantomime performance in Birmingham following a donation of £8,000 to the school in 2018, which it has used for the pantomime trip and to buy new books for the school, which each child will receive on their birthday.
Simple Life has donated the money as part of our drive to give back to the communities that its homes are built in, and our Galton Lock site, which is located near to the school, was no exception.
Due to a decrease in government funding, the school had to make a difficult decision to cancel the January 2019 pantomime trip to the Birmingham Hippodrome, which had been a tradition since 2013.
Sarah O’Boyle, Head Teacher at Galton Valley Primary School said: “Simple Life came to our rescue! When they arranged a meeting with us with regards to their Corporate Responsibility Funding, we were overjoyed to receive the funds so that the children could once again see the pantomime.
“This has been a fantastic opportunity for all pupils to widen their experience, which will hopefully help them in the future both academically and emotionally too.”
Victoria Hurcomb from Simple Life said : “Projects like this are what Simple Life’s monetary donations are all about; building strong and happy communities and we are delighted that the pupils got to enjoy a trip to the panto on us!”
