The school sits within proximity of Simple Life’s Holyoake Road site, which comprises 123 new homes and apartments.

Recognising the benefits of having high-quality outdoor space for children, Mesne Lea set out a comprehensive plan for the playground refurbishment, including a large obstacle course surrounded by artificial grass for all 120 children attending the school to enjoy.

Ms Nelson, Head Teacher at Mesne Lea Primary School said: “This donation has been lifechanging for the school and our pupils. We know that it is important to promote outdoor play, considering the amount of time that children spend in school and the impact of those experiences for learning and development.

“The new area is encouraging healthier and happier lifestyles and working wonders for their wellbeing and mental health. It’s helping them learn thorough play, build up their social skills and creativity and encouraging them to explore!”
