Investing in the Local Community

hero people icon

Our developments are integral parts of the broader community, bringing new people into the area and helping to build on and enhance local connections.

We’re proud to support schools, charities and institutions surrounding our developments to grow and flourish, providing financial and business aid to help them continue their great work.

  • BRINGING WELLBEING TO SCHOOLS AND RESIDENTS

Resident-owned mobile escape room business, Clever Cogz, travelled the country in 2021 bringing a wellbeing-themed concept to local schools, with residents from 28 developments invited to participate for free too.

In the Summer of 2022, Simple Life brought the wellbeing roadshow back to local schools across the country. Clever Cogz delivered a Simple Life enchanted forest escape room to help children understand phonics, problem solving, reading and the importance of trees and more.

HELPING US CHOOSE

The charities and causes we support are not only local to our developments, but mean something to our residents.

We frequently invite residents to help us choose where to donate, through polls and nominations, so we can be sure our support goes to places that will have the most impact to our existing and growing communities.

CONTRIBUTING TO A GREENER FUTURE

CONTRIBUTING TO A GREENER FUTURE

At Simple Life, we are well aware of the impact human activity has on the environment, and are always looking at our practices and processes to improve our green credentials and commit to a cleaner future.

  • Clothes Banks

In 2019 we launched a partnership with White Rose who take unwanted clothes and resell or recycle them to reduce landfill. Residents on our apartment block schemes will be able to donate their clothes and textiles with ease and help White Rose’s Green Fashion Mission.

SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE

In 2022, we launched a bespoke partnership with the Outward Bound Trust, to enable young people to build confidence, resilience, and leadership skills in the beautiful Lake District countryside.

Funding two trips per year for up to 12 participants each, our programme features physical challenges, team-building opportunities, and tests of discipline, bringing teenagers together from different backgrounds and experiences.
